 In Deciphering the Matrix™, participants plunge into the sea of biology, gender, and orientation. With Being and Belonging, you begin to swim. The workshop's purpose is to reveal the fundamental impact of gender and orientation on our ability to be, and our sense of belonging.
This workshop:
- Defines being, belonging, and becoming, and illustrates the impact of gender and orientation on these three developmental tasks
- Explores the dynamic of membership and the consequences of rejection
- Inquires into reasons for harassment, violence, discrimination, and suicide
- Examines what will be necessary to ensure the healthy development of youth and to prevent suicide.
Workshop Duration
This workshop normally contains four (4) hours of in-class time for a total of four (4) continuing education credits (CEU) as mandated by the Florida Dept. of Health standards. It is usually presented in conjunction with Deciphering the Matrix, another four hour workshop.
