New possibilities for students' voices as instruments of change
- Provides students with the necessary skills for generating powerful and authentic dialogue. This enables them to communicate with generosity in the face of harassment, discrimination, and fearful reactions from parents and others.
- Presents a one-day student version of our Communication Solutions™ Course
- Gives students access to an effective non-confrontational way of transforming schools and including the safety and recognition of all youth.
This course was developed in November 1998 to fulfill requests from counselors who participated in our two-day course. Having experienced the profound impact of using the YES Institute communication model, these counselors requested a one-day abridged version for students.
Results of This Course
- Youth trained in Communication Solutions™ for Students report breakthroughs in communication with their parents and families.
- Members of the Gay-Straight Alliance at Palmetto Senior High School put on a dramatic performance for over 300 students presenting educational information about youth who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender. Read More here.

- The Communication Solutions™ for Students Course also serves as a youth leadership and development course. Youth often follow up with the two-day Communication Solutions™ Course, and become presenters and workshop leaders for YES Institute.
- Students who have bullied or harassed other youth begin to contribute to creating safe enviornments.
YES Course Leaders conduct Communication Solutions™ for Students at our office, in the schools, or in community youth groups.

3) Clear a course date with your group advisor or adult contact person.
4) To assure effectiveness, get a solid commitment from no less than 10 and no more than 40 students to participate.
5) Secure a location that can accommodate all participants. We recommend you bring your group to YES Institute.
6) Get signed field trip permission forms from all students.
7) Provide a list of confirmed students to YES Institute two days before the course.
Introduction to Communication Solutions™ has been conducted in Miami-Dade and Broward County Schools.
