We can’t begin to understand or even question sexual orientation until we closely examine gender. After completing Part 1 of the Gender/Orientation Series™, participants arrive at a new place of inquiry—suddenly with more questions than answers, especially about orientation.
The labels “gay,” “lesbian,” “bisexual,” and “heterosexual” have stood unexamined for a long time. These quick categorizations, so succinct and cemented, have cost us the opportunity to really learn about orientation. Deciphering the Matrix asks, “What is orientation?” and allows participants to uncover just how little they know about the answer to this question. This course is for the serious student not afraid to learn new things and step off the familiar but tired platforms of yesterday.
This workshop contains 8 hours of in-class time.* Provides 8 continuing education units (CEUs) to nursing and mental health professionals, and 8 master plan points (MPPs) to Miami-Dade County Public School teachers and counselors.
