Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center
As part of YES Institute outreach in Broward County, and in response to an invitation by Jamie Blood of the Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Joseph and Eva visited their facilities in early July 2004. About 40 members of the center’s staff, including nurses, therapists, doctors and research associates, greeted them.

Memorial Regional Hospital, Hollywood, Florida
Memorial Regional Hospital in Broward was named out of 5,000 hospitals by the American Hospital Association,“to serve as the national model for improving the health status in the community.” Fulfilling their commitment, Mabel Rodriguez, LCSW with the Adolescent Services Department, invited YES Institute to conduct two workshops for hospital staff. Lorrie Rivera, Patient Advocate at the Behavioral Health Department at Memorial Regional Hospital invited YES Institute back to Memorial Regional Hospital. The YES Welcome Posters are now displayed in both the Adult and Adolescent Behavioral Health departments. Read the newsletter article.
South Miami Hospital, Miami, Florida
On August 22, 2000, Thomas Pietrogallo, a social worker at South Miami Hospital invited YES Institute to conduct a training workshop for the social workers at the medical facility. The social workers were eager to acquire more knowledge and resources for gay and lesbian youth and their families. Read the newsletter article.
Baptist Health Systems also invited YES Institute to conduct a sensitivity workshop at South Miami Hospital. This workshop reached over 40 clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, mental health therapists, and nurses. Read the newsletter article.
Children's Psychiatric Center
